FOI 315_Directors and Chief Executive Salary, Reward and Expenses

  1. “Details of the salary and rewards package paid to the Chief Executive and Directors of your organisation.
  2. Details of the amount paid to each in expenses over each of the last 5 years – please what these were paid for.
  3. Details of the amount collectively paid in by your organisation to the pension pots of these senior officers in each of the last five years.”

  1. Salary and rewards package information for our Chief Executive and Directors (not all of the annual reports include Directors’ salaries) can be found in our Annual report published on our website

    The current salary pay band for the Chief executive is £110-115,000

    The current salaries pay band for the directors are in Grade I, there are four grade points/progression levels.  After each year of service, an individual moves up one point grade (dependent on performance, where a if a member of staff is not performing, they would not move up for that year).

    I2= £96,421
    I3= £98,261
    I4= £100,139

    The current salaries for the directors at the time of your request is:

    Director of Finance and Business Services: 100-105,000 (I4)

    Director of Corporate Operations: 80-85,000 (100-105,000 Full-time equivalent – I4)

    Director of Property: 95-100,000 (I3)

    Director of Marine: 100-105,000 (I4)

    Interim Director of Marine: 75-80,000 (90-95,000 Full-time Equivalent – I1)

    Crown Estate Scotland does not have a rewards or bonus package.

  2. The employer contribution to pension is based on a percentage of salary and is set by the Civil Service Pension Scheme.  The employer contribution rate has been the same since 2019 and is set at 30.3%.
