REF 81 - Breaching tenancy agreements

Request

1. How many times has the Crown Estate breached tenancy agreements over the past five calendar years up to and including the end of December 2018? Please can you provide information for 2014, 15, 16, 17, 18 and break the information down year-by-year. In each case where a tenancy agreement has been breached, please can you state how it was breached.

2. How much compensation has the Crown Estate paid out to tenants over the past five years up to and including the end of December 2018 due to breaching tenancy agreements? Please can you provide information for 2014, 15, 16, 17, 18and break the information down year-by-year. Please can you state how much compensation was paid out in each case and state how the tenancy agreement was breached.

In earlier correspondence it was confirmed to you that Crown Estate Scotland (Interim Management) began operation on 1 April 2017, and you were advised to contact The Crown Estate for information prior to this. Therefore, we are suppling information from 1 April 2017 onwards.

For clarity, I have responded to your request using the same numbering points as above.

1. Crown Estate Scotland (IM) has not breached any of its ongoing tenancy agreements at this time.

2. Crown Estate Scotland (IM) has not paid out compensation to any tenants due to breaching of tenancy agreements, because as stated previously, CES has not breached any of its tenancy agreements
