REF 2 - Fishing Rights in Ballachulish

Request

QLTR need specific information to proceed, and I understand you should be able to provide me with the information they require

Who had these fishing rights from 1914 (when Lord Strathcona died) to 1971 when Ballachulish Estate claimed it?

Response

The ownership of the salmon fishing rights sold to Lord Strathcona would pass to his ‘Heirs and assignees whomsoever’, which is the wording in the Feu Disposition. We do not keep ownership records once a sale has completed.

Title research can be carried out at Registers of Scotland to find his successors.
