Multi-million pound funding secured for Glenlivet
In 2016, Heritage Lottery Fund awarded a grant of £2.34 million to support regeneration projects in the Cairngorms National Park to the Tomintoul and Glenlivet Landscape Partnership project (TGLP) which we are members of.
Twenty projects are planned over a four-year period, including
- Creating a Discovery Centre and tourist hub
- Conserving Blairfindy Castle and Scalan (an 18th Century seminary)
- Restoring woodlands along the River Avon
- Creating wetland habitats for wading birds
The grant that we helped to secure (working with Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Moray Council and the park authority) will benefit a range of cultural, heritage and environmental projects and enhance the area’s tourism offer, boosting visitor numbers and the local economy.
