The benefits of improving attention to detail in upland lamb production will be highlighted at a Crown Estate Scotland and Moredun Research Institute event next month (August).
Titled Maximising grass and health for profitable upland lamb production, the event will take place at the Ruthven Farm on the Glenlivet Estate, managed by tenant farmers Jim and Lesley Simmons, on 14 August from 2:30pm to 5pm.
Practical workshops and demonstrations include:
- Charlie Morgan, Grassmaster will demonstrate how to get the maximum from grass in upland lamb (and cattle) production.
- Roundworm control in ewes and lambs for maximising productivity.
- Lameness: Stamp out flock lameness with a 5 point plan.
