Volunteers on Glenlivet Estate

Glenlivet Estate sets up conservation volunteer group

A new volunteer group started work this week at Glenlivet, helping out with a range of supervised practical tasks on the 23,000 hectare estate, which is part of Crown Estate Scotland.

Vicky Hilton, Crown Estate Scotland’s Countryside Manager for the Glenlivet Estate, said the group would meet on the first Wednesday of every month, working on various tasks between 10am and 4pm. Group members will need to be aged 18 or over.

“Glenlivet and the wider community have welcomed many volunteers over the years. We have had wildlife groups, heritage enthusiasts and others who have helped us make the most of this great region and what it has to offer.

“This group is a very practical way to help keep Glenlivet in tip top condition, and members will be learning from Crown Estate Scotland experts as they build, repair and conserve. The work will be hands-on and varied, but we will provide training and supervision where needed. Tasks will take place across the Estate and also include some days maintaining the BikeGlenlivet mountain bike trails.”

The volunteer group will run throughout the year. Booking is required and anyone interested in taking part in the November session on can contact Vicky or her team on 01479 870070 or email
