REF: 167 - Portgordon

Request:

1. The inspection records for Portgordon harbour, including the frequency and methodology of inspections,

2. The maintenance/repair records for Portgordon harbour, and

3. Any records of accidents, complaints or other incidents relating to Portgordon Harbour.

Response:

The inspection records and information relating to maintenance have been grouped together in years. The only accident / incident we hold records of relate to an incident on 20 September 2019 when a man apparently fell into the harbour and was rescued by the RNLI and HM Coastguard. We have no records of any complaints in relation to the harbour.

You also asked us to “advise when Portgordon came under the Crown’s management“ and I can confirm that His Majesty the King purchased the harbour in 1938 and it was managed by The Commissioners of Crown lands as part of the Fochabers Estate until our establishment.
