Business Support Manager/Executive Assistant to Chief Executive

Crown Estate Scotland has an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Manager to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.  This role is based in our Edinburgh office.

Crown Estate Scotland manages assets on behalf of Scottish Ministers including agricultural and forestry land, most of the seabed, just under half of the foreshore and some commercial property.  We invest in property, natural resources and people to generate lasting value for Scotland. About You

The successful applicant will manage the Business Support function of Crown Estate Scotland, which includes a multi activity team with responsibility for front of house, facilities, events, information requests and Board and Senior Management support. 

The role holder will also work with the Chief Executive to manage the organisation of their work, diary and meeting schedule in order to meet corporate objectives.

The successful applicant should:

  • Be qualified to degree level (eg BA, MA, BSc) or equivalent in a relevant business subject.
  • Have extensive experience in providing comprehensive executive assistance at Chief Executive level.
  • Have experience of stakeholder management.
  • Have extensive experience of event organisation and day-to-day office management.
  • Operate with utmost integrity and be mindful and respectful of confidentiality.
  • Be able to communicate with people at all levels internally and externally in a confident and engaging manner.
  • Be able to work under pressure and manage time effectively. 
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter and problem solver.
  • Be confident in using Microsoft Office products (such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Sharepoint, MS Teams).
  • Be highly customer focused and be able to prioritise and manage a number of tasks simultaneously. 
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent levels of attention to detail with consideration for the wider business implications.

The starting salary will be £39,353.50 with potential for future progression as well as eligibility of annual cost of living rises.  The maximum salary for this role is currently £47,086.35.  The role also benefits from 25 days’ annual leave, increasing to 30 days after four years’ service, plus 11.5 of public/ privilege days.
