Senior Policy Manager

Permanent, Edinburgh

Crown Estate Scotland is recruiting for a Senior Policy Manager to join our team on a permanent basis.  This role is based in our Edinburgh office.

About Us

Crown Estate Scotland manages assets on behalf of Scottish Ministers including agricultural and forestry land, most of the seabed, just under half of the foreshore and some commercial property.  We invest in property, natural resources and people to generate lasting value for Scotland. We return all revenue profit to Scottish Government.

About You

The successful applicant will manage Crown Estate Scotland’s policy, planning and consenting obligations across the business and support delivery of Crown Estate Scotland’s business objectives through effective government, industry, community and stakeholder relations.  The post-holder will ensure our activity aligns with wider government policy and that we meet our duties as a Scottish public body in relation to planning and policy including managing statutory assessments of plans.

The successful candidate is likely to have demonstrable experience of working with Scottish Government and/or local government as well as experience of working with community/third sector organisations and engagement/ consultation.  Moreover, they will need to demonstrate solid experience of policy development, policy engagement and influencing. Knowledge of terrestrial and marine planning processes would be advantageous.

Applicants should have a broad understanding our business sectors and how these sectors utilise resources, space and interact with their environment. We’re looking for someone to generate solutions and new ideas, who can influence stakeholders and be confident presenting to external audiences. Additionally, we want someone who is attentive to detail and comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams.
